About SSL Certificate Monitoring
SSL Certificate monitoring allows checking your SSL certificate so that you get alerted if it reaches the expiry date.
Adding SSL Certificate Monitoring
Go to the Monitors top menu and select Other->SSL Certificate.
The Add Uptime Monitor – Step 1 window will open.
Enter the URL/IP.
Enter the HTTPS Port.
Provide the value (seconds) under Timeout. Your server will be considered down if no response within this amount of time.
Under Expiration threshold (days) enter the number of days you want to be alerted upon when reached.
Check the Enable SNI support box if you want to enable it. For more info about SNI see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Name_Indication.
Click Next.
The Add Uptime Monitor – Step 2 window will open.
Enter a name for your monitor under Monitor Name.
Select monitor group from the Monitor Group combo box. You can also create a new monitor group by clicking on the “+” icon next to Add a new Group.
Set monitoring frequency for the monitor. By default, the check interval is set to 1 min. Move the slider under Check Interval (min) to increase it.
Select the locations you want your URL/IP to be monitored from by checking the boxes next to the location names under Monitoring Locations.
Click Add when finished.
The Alert Configuration window will appear.
– Click Send to All Contacts if you want to send alerts for this monitor to all contacts.
– Click Custom Configuration (Advanced) to configure sending alerts for this monitor only to selected contacts (see Adding Alert Rules and Managing Alert Rules).
– Click Don’t Send Alerts if you don’t want any alerts for this monitor to be sent.
Your newly created Certificate monitor will be added in your Monitis dashboard. Wait a few minutes for the first results to load.
