To add a Real User Monitor, go to the Monitors menu and select Monitors->End User Monitors-> RUM.
The Add New Site window will open.
Under Website domain enter the domain name or IP of your website.
Website domain name can be entered with or without “www”: e.g. “example.com” or “www.example.com”. In both cases, it will be recognized by Monitis RUM as “example.com” domain name, and tracking will be carried out for the “example.com” domain along with all subdomains, as per the explanation below.
Monitis RUM carries out monitoring not only for domains, but for subdomains as well:
- If you enter a domain name, monitoring will be carried out for this domain name as well as for all level subdomains.
- If you enter a subdomain, monitoring will be carried out for this subdomain and for all subdomains of lower levels, with the exception of “www” subdomain which is recognized by Monitis RUM the same as domain name, as explained above.

Tracking will not be carried out for:
By default, the page views from pages with the same URL but with different query parameters will count as coming from the same page.
If you need these page views to count uniquely then please contact our support team.
E.g. views from example.com/catalog?id=1 and example.com/catalog?id=2 URLs will be treated as views from example.com/catalog.
Enter a name for the monitor.
Select a monitor group for this monitor. You can also create a new group by clicking Add a new group.
Click Add when done.
The new RUM will be added in your Monitis dashboard.
Read the instruction in the monitor’s screen and complete the steps, as described below in detail.
