Configuring Auto-forwarding to ert@ert.monitis.com in Exchange 2010

Unlike earlier versions of Exchange (2003 and 2007) where it’s not possible to setup auto-forwarding to only forward emails received from a particular email address (see Configuring Auto-forwarding to ert@ert.monitis.com in Exchange 2003 and Configuring Auto-forwarding to ert@ert.monitis.com in Exchange 2007), in Exchange 2010 you can do that using Transport Rules. If you set up auto-forwarding following instructions in this document, any email address that receives an email from ert@ert.monitis.com will automatically forward it back to it, while emails received from other email addresses will not be forwarded.

However, we still recommend that you create a separate test mail user for Email Round-Trip service to receive emails only from ert@ert.monitis.com and forward them back to it, to avoid possible issues if e.g. you do not set up mail auto-forwarding correctly.

Follow the steps below to configure auto-forwarding.

Step 1. Create a new mail contact with ert@ert.monitis.com email address in MS Exchange 2010 Management Console.
